Best season to visit Thekkady is August to May. Jan – Mar : Cool and dry. April – May : Summer, yet very pleasant, with temperatures as good 5 degrees below the plains. June – Aug : The monsoon months, with a drizzly, misty charm all their own. This is also the perfect time for Ayurvedic treatments. Sept - Dec : Pleasant and dry, usually the main tourist season. This place enjoys a moderate weather all the year round. During summer season the temperature may reach 34 °C, while in the winter ( December to February) it may drop to 11 °C. During the monsoon (i.e. from June to September), there is a heavy rainfall along with occasional landslides.
